Project writing and management

Agenda

During the training the participants will gain general overview of processes related to the invention of proposal ideas and its planning and implementing. They will not only acquire theoretical knowledge about the EU projects but also practical experience in its preparation. The training will improve the participants’ ability to actively work in project teams, initiate and prepare projects. It will try to link the project ideas with real application forms. The training will be conducted in a form of interactive and dynamic combination of presentation, group work and discussions. The training will be done in English in order to get the participants with the modus operandi of EU projects.

The training will start with an introduction of the participants and the trainer. The purpose of the introductory discussion will be to give the participants a chance to introduce themselves, express their experience or expectations which are related to project ideas and proposal writing. The experience will include issues such as knowledge about the EU projects and its functioning, the invention of project ideas, preparation of the application, its implementation and reporting.

During the second theoretical session a brief look will be taken at the current situation in the EU and Moldova (including situation in Gagauzia) and European-Moldavian relations in order to provide a wider context for the next session. The theoretical session will be dedicated to the discussion on definition of the term “project” in order to reach a mutual understanding on this issue. Once this issue will be clarified, the discussion will switch into the invention of project ideas (brainstorming, priorities), the comprehension of projects’ attractiveness, importance (macro-level and micro-level) and timeliness (ownership). In particular three topics will be explained in detail:

-invention of project (competition of ideas)

– its framework (stakeholders, challenges, objectives, instruments, planning)

-operational dimension (project structure, activities, budget, etc.)

In the third practical session case studies of ongoing, implemented or submitted projects will be presented by the trainer (personal experience) and discussed. In course of the session the participants will learn how to invent successful project ideas in practice. As strong as possible emphasis will be put on working out ideas which are attractive for the participants and closely related to their fields of interests or professional activities. They will be developed into “model proposal drafts”.

In the next stage of training the team will be split into working groups which will focus on “model proposal drafts”. They will analyze objectives and strategies of projects, stakeholders and finally work out the project proposals. During the next session each group will present their project proposals. Then, the structure of each project proposals will be discussed, evaluated and corrected with an entire team through a comprehensive round of questions and answers. The training will be closed by final conclusions.
